Do you have a business trip to Brazil with a little bit of time to spare? These are the must see locations for you to cram as much of Brazil’s spirit into a short visit.
Have some delicious Brazilian food. The barbeque in Brazil is over the top and truly a feast. Called Churrascarias, these restaurants specialize in grilling meat to seared perfection. Visit Churrascaria Palace in Rio de Janeiro near the Copacabana Beach at Rua Rodolfo Dantas, 16 | Copacabana. In São Paulo head to Templo da Carne Marcos Bassi, located on Rua 13 de Maio, 668. Also be sure to try the national dish Feijoada, an hearty stew, and to start the day, a breakfast of Açaí berry sorbet will give you all the energy you need for any business meeting.
After dinner head to one of the many Brazilian bars. Be sure to try the Caipirinha, the national cocktail of Brazil. It is made from lime and the liquor of choice, Cachaça. Once limbered up, head to a Samba club. The best one in Rio is Rio Scenarium, located at Lapa at R. do Lavradio, 20 – Centro. This multi-story Samba house will be the highlight of your trip. While in São Paulo head to Bar Brahma for samba, it is one of the oldest clubs in town and located at Avenida São João 677, República.
If you have time to spare in Rio de Janeiro, no trip to this city is complete without a picture at the Christ the Redeemer statue. Take a tram up to the top from Cosme Velho. Another must visit location is Copacabana beach, a short walk down the waterfront will let you feel the Brazilian beach culture.
In São Paulo, do some shopping in your spare time at Paulista Avenue. There are a multitude of large fashion houses and impressive shopping malls. If shopping is not your thing, check out some of Brazils heritage at the Museu Paulista, or some of Brazil’s art at the São Paulo Museum of Art.
