Ippotei is a small restaurant founded back in 1933 which specialises in flower-inspired cuisine.
Their unique dishes include the shaomai-young fried chicken which is one of their most popular items. They also offer excellent roasted pork, sweet and sour pork, liver query baked, and some spring rolls. Other novel offerings include dumplings wrapped in a skin made with homemade Usuyaki omellets; the filling of these dumplings contain seasoned minced pork, shrimp, chopped onions, salt and pepper. The cooks at Ippotei also use specially-grown onions from Awaji Island which are thought to have world class flavours.
Offered at very attractive prices, Ippotei is something you should definitely try for lunch or dinner while in Osaka.
