Located inside The Cube, a mall on top of Kyoto Station, Katsukura is a popular chain of Tonkatsu restaurants based in Kyoto. For those who don't know, Tonkatsu is pork that’s either deep fried or breaded and served with rice, miso soup, and shredded cabbage. And if you’re hungry, extra servings of rice, soup, and cabbage are free! The simple menu consists of two options: the pork loin or the pork fillet. The loin is fat and tender, while the pork fillet is tough but healthier than the loin. No matter what your choice is, their Tonkatsu is famously crisp and juicy. The sauces consist of the yuzu dressing for the cabbage, along with Katsukura’s original sauce, and hot yellow mustard.
