Situated in Kyoto’s North West suburbs, Gallery Gado is the home of Ido Masao, a Japanese woodblock artist who has been honing his craft for more than 50 years.
The small store is located only minutes from the city's spectacular Kinkaku-ji (golden temple) and is a great place for authentic, handmade souvenirs.
Customers can pick from a wide selection of prints depicting many well-known Kyoto landmarks through Japan’s 4 distinctive seasons.
Not only does Ido offer explanations of the process behind his work, he'd even give visitors the chance to try their hand at woodblock printing.
Postcard-sized prints are available for 2,500yen, with larger pieces priced from 7,000yen.
