Constructed on top of JR Hakata Station, the modern Amu Plaza Hakata is the biggest shopping centre in Fukuoka. The 11-storey mall is predominantly home to Japanese fashion brands, with clothing and homeware shops occupying floors two through seven. On the eighth floor, you will find the Pokémon Center Fukuoka which stocks thousands of collectables and cuddly toys from the series. The complex is also home to a large branch of department store Tokyu Hands, which occupies five floors and stocks some 200,000 items from health and beauty products to camping kit, as well as a wide range of Japanese crafts supplies which can make ideal souvenirs. The ninth and 10th floors are home to a truly international selection of nearly 50 dining and drinking options. Choices include a pizzeria, Indian cuisine, Mexican food, and several Chinese restaurants. The roof garden offers a place for you to relax after a day shopping. The oasis of green includes plenty of seating and a small train ride for children.
